DIY Face Masks of Holy Basil

Till now, you have been using the basil leaves just to add flavor to your food, but originally it is much more than a flavoring essence. The miraculous properties of the Holy Basil are extremely beneficial for the skin.

The leaves of the holy plant are widely used in skin care products such as facial cleansing oil, eye creams, and anti-aging creams. If the essence of the plant works so effectively, then what if it is used as a whole. Some people even call it the mother medicine of nature. While many of the people eat the leaves of the basil by simply chewing it raw, you can also add a bit of honey to enhance the taste.

Eating is not the only way to be benefited from the basil leaves, you can also use it in your face pack, face mask or face wash. Here are the various ways to use basil in your skin care regime.

1. Dry Skin

Going through dryness? This face mask can do magic to your skin. Mix a half tablespoon of curd in a fine mixture of dried basil. Apply this paste on the face and let it dry. Rinse with cold water and see the noticeable change. The exotic mixture will moisturize the skin thoroughly.

2. Oily Skin

If you have oily skin, then try this mask: Mix a spoon of fuller’s earth with half spoon of dried and grinned basil and apply it all over the face. After that wash it off with normal water and pat the skin dry. This will keep the oil away for the whole day.

3. Blemished Skin

For the blemished skin, make a paste of saffron and basil by grinding both the ingredients. Apply this on your face and leave in for 20 minutes. This will act on the blemishes along with soothing the skin. Some of the best night eye creams in London use this mixture.

4. Acne-prone Skin

The antibacterial properties of basil act as magic potion on the acne prone skin. A regular use of basil can kill the acne from the root. Make a paste of Basil leaves and lemon juice, and apply this mixture on the face before you go to the bed.

These remedies are mentioned according to the skin type, yet there are some more recipes to experiment with. A few of them are: the paste of sandalwood and basil, basil and oatmeal, gram flour and basil, Neem and basil paste, and basil and tomato paste.
Open your freezer, take out the basil leaves and start experimenting. Once done with the basil experiments do not forget to share your views with Bijou Beauty, the only best salon in Walthamstow.
